Real president Florentino Perez reportedly has a verbal agreement with Radamel Falcao

AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao has recently held talks with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez about a potential move to the Santiago Bernabeu, according to a report in the Spanish press.

Madrid were heavily linked with the Colombian over the summer but the 27-year-old instead joined the newly-promoted French side Monaco.

The former Atletico Madrid frontman has contributed to Monaco’s rise to the top of Ligue 1 scoring seven times in his first nine league games with the Red-Whites.

Real president Perez revealed on Monday that Los Blancos will not be trying to sign Falcao in January but hinted the Spanish giants could make a bid for his signature at the end of the season and the Madrid chief believes Falcao wants to play for his club.

The player himself has played down links with Madrid insisting he is concentrating on his form with Monaco.
He said: "I can do nothing but thank Florentino for his words, but I have to respect my current club Monaco, where I feel good.

“I am very happy and it does not seem the right time to talk about a possible interest of Real Madrid, out of respect for the club with which I am bound today."

According to Spanish media outlet Punto Pelota, however, Falcao and Perez held a 30-minute discussion in recent weeks and have come to a verbal agreement that the striker will transfer to Real Madrid in the summer.
