fotonCristiano Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro has disclosed a few anecdotes about her son’s infancy in an interview published this week by Argentinean newspaper, ‘Clarín’. When he was just a boy, Cristiano was called ‘Crybaby’ because, as his mother explained, “The tears would start rolling down his cheeks whenever his team mates didn’t pass the ball to him or when he or one of the others missed a goal, a pass or even if he or his colleagues didn’t play as well as he wanted”.
In Luca Caioli’s 2012 biography of the Real Madrid player (Cristiano Ronaldo: Historia de una ambición sin límites), Dolores revealed that her son’s friends also called him ‘Albelhinha’ or ‘Little Bee’. “His other nickname was ‘Little Bee’ because just like a bee, he was always buzzing about the pitch, without pause. He would spend the whole game racing around every part of the pitch”.
