Bale Declared Fit And Raring To Go

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has dismissed any claims that Gareth Bale is still suffering from a serious injury and states he could be in-line to feature this weekend.

Bale has been hampered by a number of injuries since his arrival at Madrid and the latest revelation to emerge was that he slipped a disk in his back which could require surgery.

Madrid have been criticised for spending a world record £86million on Bale as it was thought they were fully aware of his injury problems.

The winger was close to regaining full fitness before the international break in September but rumours have been spouted that the Welsh medical team only aggravated the injury.

But Perez has dismissed any of those claims. Taken from Sky Sports, he told television show Punto Pelota: “I'm surprised. It's difficult to understand such a cruel story.

"It was the first time I had heard talk of that subject (a herniated disc). The paper also wrote that I had been told about this problem during the medical. It's totally false.

"It's very serious as it plays with the image of Real Madrid and Bale. It can be very damaging and is not a minor issue. We want to know why it happened.”

And Perez states that Bale could be fit to make a return to action this Saturday in the clash against Malaga.

"Gareth is calm and ready and is hoping to play on Saturday.”
