Real Madrid could sell Karim Benzema to Arsenalfor 20 million pounds (24 million euros), according to London daily 'The Evening Standard'.
The newspaper claims that the north Londoners were interested in signing the Frenchman in August, and offered Madrid double the amount of money they would be ready to pay for him now.
The paper adds that Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is believed to be disappointed with the 24-year-old's contribution this season, in which he has scored just two goals in La Liga for Los Blancos despite starting all eight games.
Arsenal did business with Madrid on the final day of the summer transfer window, signing Mesut Özil for 45 million euros.
The German has impressed the coach and fans alike in his first six weeks at the club, and has helped the Gunners go top of the Premier League.
