Sergio Ramos adds voice to bone marrow appeal

Real Madrid vice-captain Sergio Ramos has joined a mass campaign to promote bone marrow donation in Spain. The movement is inspired by four-month-old baby Mateo, one of so many children who rely on the generosity of donors for a transplant and a fighting chance to survive.
The Spain international has made a public appeal encouraging people to donate, recording a video with the following message: "This is Mateo. He's fourth months old and has a big smile. He'll probably want to play football one day, but he has leukaemia and urgently needs a bone marrow transplant to live, just like millions of others like him around the world".
"Becoming a bone marrow transplant couldn't be easier and with a small gesture, you can save the life of Mateos all around the world. All it takes is a blood test and to stand by your commitment over time. Then, after a fairly simple donation process, you will have the privilege of saving a life".
"Mateo deserves the chance to grow up, go to school and play with his brother: in short, to live. So please ask yourself one simple question: what if you were the compatible donor he needs?".
"You can find out more at www.medulaparamateo.com. Your help could save a lot of lives".
