Andres Iniesta believes that Real Madrid were wrong to sell Mesut Ozil in the summer.
The German international moved to Arsenal on the final day of the transfer window in a £42.5m move following Madrid's capture of Gareth Bale.
Ozil has gone on to shine for the Gunners at the Emirates stadium so far this season, assisting four and scoring one already.
Overall, he has thoroughly impressed whilst playing for Arsene Wenger's side and La Liga star Iniesta believes Real Madrid were wrong to let Ozil go.
"I was very surprised that Madrid let Ozil leave because he understands football better than any one else," Iniesta told Onda Cero. "They will have had their reasons to let him go, though."
Barcelona and Spain midfielder Iniesta continued to speak about the impending departure of Victor Valdes, who is expected to leave when his contract expires next summer.
The 29-year-old says it is 'impossible' that Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas will move to the Nou Camp but admits Liverpool's Pepe Reina is an attractive option.
"Valdes is the best and we will miss him a lot. He has made his decision, though," Iniesta remarked, "[but] Casillas to Barcelona seems impossible to me. Reina? We would be delighted if he were to join Barca."
The midfielder then calmed fans fears over his new contract by saying there will be no problem in renewing his current deal, which expires in 2015.
"My desire is to stay at Barcelona and the club want me to stay," he added. "There is not a problem if we both want the same thing."
