Valdano: Mourinho's leadership style is short-term fix

Jorge Valdano, the former Real Madrid director of football, chatted with elmundo.es readers and answered questions about the club and figures such as Cristiano Ronaldo and José Mourinho.
"Leaders who look to amass too much power are only effective for a short time. Mourinho is another example of that," explained the Argentine when asked about the Portuguese manager's time at Real Madrid.
When quizzed on who Real Madrid's natural leader was, Valdano picked out another Portuguese man. "Cristiano Ronaldo's impact on games is so devastating that he has to be considered the true leader of the team even if he doesn't open his mouth," he said.
The 'Los Blancos' legend also claimed that Real Madrid's sporting situation will become clear over time and admitted that he "very much regretted the sale of Özil", although Ancelotti "still has a fantastic squad and finding the right balance is a question of time".
