Gareth Bale has received the title ‘Wales’s Best Footballer’ for the third time in his career. The Real Madrid midfielder previously won the trophy in 2010 and 2011 and so becomes the third player in the history of Wales to win the trophy outright since it was first awarded by the Welsh Football Federation in 1991. Mark Hughes (93, 94, and 97) and John Hartson (98, 2001 and 2003) are the other two players. The Real player was also voted best footballer of 2013 by Welsh football fans in a ceremony that took place at the National Museum of Wales, in Cardiff.
