'Carletto' is not kidding around in the Real Madrid hotseat, that much is for sure. The stats paint a vivid picture.

Despite the clamour from the Bernabéu, the groundswell in the press, the desires of the higher-ups and the fervour of recent surveys, Carlo Ancelotti is sticking to his guns when it comes to protecting his fledgling stars. The Italian continues to insist that there's no substitute for experience.
'Carletto' is not kidding around in the Real Madrid hotseat, that much is for sure. The stats paint a vivid picture. In ten competitive fixtures - eight in the league and two in the Champions League - Morata, Casemiro and Jesé have not started even once. The latter pair have even been omitted from the match-day squad on a couple of occasions.
Ancelotti believes in wrapping younger players in cotton wool in order to prevent them being weighed down with expectation. That is his message in private, and he admitted it in public in his press conference last weekend, when asked why Casemiro had gone from man of the moment in pre-season to being frozen out of the first team: "Once things start going more smoothly, we'll give him more game time. It's harder to throw the youngsters into the deep end in high-pressure games, because experience is vital", he said.
"You have to blood the kids when you've got the wind in your sails", is a mantra espoused by many coaches. "You have to respect their development and not rush them", Javier Aguirre once claimed when asked about a 17-year-old signing who came billed as the next the jewel in Atlético de Madrid's crown. His name was Sergio Agüero.
