Fifty shades of Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo's last-gasp winner for Real Madrid against Levante further added to the Portuguese striker's claim to have been the most effective goalscorer in any of the big European leagues in 2013.
CR7 has netted 50 times so far this calendar year, eight more than Leo Messi and 14 more than PSG marksman Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
This half-century is split into 44 goals for Real Madrid and six for Portugal, which largely owes its chances of qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil to its captain, the 'Los Blancos' star.
Staggeringly, it has taken Ronaldo just 45 games to score these 50 goals and he has hit the target in every single competition – from the league to the Champions League, Spanish Cup and internationals. He has also registered five hat-tricks, against Getafe, Sevilla, Galatasaray and Celta for his club and against Northern Ireland for his country.
