Ancelotti tries out three-spear midfield

It's turning out to be an experimental week at Valdebebas, as Ancelotti has been trying things out ahead of the games against Juventus and Barcelona. The coach put a game together, which gives a hint at what his starting-eleven could be in the Champions League against Juve, in which he corrected several tactical details. Real Madrid has two crucial matches approaching and Carlo wanted to polish off a few things.

For the first time this season, the Italian had the luxury of working with all his players. Xabi Alonso joined up with the squad and played in the practice match organised by the coach, which involved the whole squad. The eleven-a-side game featured everyone apart from one of the three goalkeepers.
Ancelotti showed which team could be the one that goes head-to-head tomorrow against Juventus, as well as an insight into his tactical genius. The most notable change was the introduction of a three-speared midfield, formed by Khedira, Illarra and Modric. The team in bibs, which is likely to be the one that faces the Italians, was also comprised of Arbeloa, Ramos, Pepe and Marcelo in defence, and Cristiano, Bale and Jesé in attack.

Apart from the attack, with the inclusion of the former youth-team player and the Welshman, it seems the rest of the team will be the same as the one used at the start. Cristiano will play up-front, but it appears the forward three will be completed by Di María and Benzema, and not Bale and Jesé. The other team was formed by Carvajal, Varane, Nacho, Coentrao, Casemiro, Xabi Alonso, Isco, Di María, Benzema amd Morata.
