Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Atila, Napoleon and Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese hopes to take the baton of the great conquerors and dominate Europe under his leadership.

His list of defeated enemies is long and frightening: Ajax, Almería, Apoel, Athletic, Atlético, Auxerre, Barcelona, Bayern, Betis, Borussia Dortmund, Celta, FC Copenhagen, CSKA, Deportivo, Elche, Espanyol, Galatasaray, Getafe, Granada, Hércules, Levante, Lyon, Málaga, Mallorca, Manchester City, Manchester United, Marseille, Milan, Murcia, Osasuna, Ponferradina, Racing, Rayo, Real Sociedad, Sevilla, Sporting, Tenerife, Tottenham, Valencia, Valladolid, Villarreal, Xerez, Zaragoza and FC Zurich.

Only Dinamo Zagreb got away from him on his goal-scoring assault. The only unscathed opponent from a 45-team-long list who have gone head-to-head with Ronaldo. All the other defences have caved in against the forward.

Wednesday's game sees another new opponent for the Portuguese to destroy. Juventus will visit the Bernabéu and Ronaldo is ready to pounce, as the Turin side is yet to be conquered by the Real star.
Ronaldo's goal-scoring record is quite simply astonishing, no matter which way you look at it - 215 goals in 210 matches -, as well as his spectacular ability to score against anyone he comes up against.
In Spain, he has netted against every team in the top-flight and in Europe, all that remains is for him to get past the semi-finals and take the Champions League home to Real Madrid, just as he did for Manchester United.
